DENISE FOUNDATION SPONSORSHIP PROGRAM
We have developed a sponsorship program where we ensure that orphans and vulnerable children can access quality education. We seek passionate people and organisations to partner with us by sponsoring at least one
child. For those that are interested, we allow the sponsor to pick a specific child they would like to support and develop a deep relationship with. Some people choose to remain general donors but specify that their donation is towards education. This money is used to support orphans that do not yet have sponsors.
Benefits of sponsoring a child:
Sponsoring a child means being part of the solution in making a valuable difference and giving a child a brighter future today. Also, sponsoring means developing friendships with the children and their families. Your support will significantly impact the lives of orphans and vulnerable children. We’re here to connect those who wish to help, with those most in need. Supporting a child through sponsorship is a rewarding relationship for all involved.
You will be able to communicate with your sponsored child through letters, and get regular updates about your child from their replies.
Terms & Conditions
Payment & Renewal:
You may pay for your sponsorship using standing order directly to Denise Foundation Uganda Account with Barclays Bank, or you can contact the Denise Foundation International Coordinator for details and guidance on the procedure.
DFU will notify you immediately after receipt of funds and a thank you message will be sent to you from DFU head office Uganda.
Assignment of children for Sponsorship:
This work will be conducted solely by the DFU Sponsorship Coordinator soon after receiving the sponsorship application form. After submitting this form, if you have chosen options 2 or 3, you will be assigned a child to sponsor.
DFU reserves the right to change your sponsored child at any time if financial, family or other circumstances change. Families of sponsored children may attain a level of income where they no longer require aid, at which point DFU will assign a new child whose family is facing more immediate economic hardship. We will notify you of any change by email.
Terminating Your Sponsorship:
• If DFU does not receive your renewal payment, you will receive a notification email informing you that your account is overdue. A two month grace period will be provided, after which sponsorship will be considered terminated and the sponsored child returned to unsponsored status. At this point the child will be placed on DFU’s website so they may receive a new sponsor. You are welcome to sponsor again at any time, but DFU cannot guarantee that the original child will be available to sponsor.
• We encourage sponsors to support the same child throughout the course of their education for as long as they are able. This allows children to continue their education uninterrupted and facilitates a relationship between the sponsor and the sponsored child.
• In the interests of the child, please try to give at least three months advanced notice if at any point you decide to discontinue your sponsorship. Contact DFU by email or telephone to provide this notice.
